NA member speaks out against loans to SMEs
The government can acquire money from other sources for injecting into small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) rather than issuing loans, which would only add to the country’s debt. This was the view expressed by National Assembly (NA) member for Vientiane, Ms Valy Vetsaphong, who disagreed with the Bank of the Lao PDR’s plan to borrow money from a Chinese bank for lending to SMEs.
